However, with the Rossoneri on an 11-match unbeaten run in all competitions, Abate is hoping for some continuity at San Siro.

“My teammates and I have already said it’d be a shame to start from scratch next year,” the Italian international reminded journalists in the Press conference ahead of the Coppa Italia tie with Alessandria.

“At first it was a building site, now we have a house. No-one has told us that the Coach won’t be here next year, so I’m confident.”
