It’s been just over a year since Dusan Vlahovic’s €80m move to Juventus and the Serbian striker is still struggling to show his best for the Old Lady.

The 23-year-old earnt the high-profile move to Turin in January 2022 after an incredible 18-month period with Fiorentina, where he netted 41 goals before leaving for the Piedmont capital.

Juventus hoped Vlahovic would be the talismanic figure to lead the time in the post-Cristiano Ronaldo era, but his first 13 months with the club have been far less prolific than hoped.

La Gazzetta dello Sport highlights how Vlahovic’s recent poor performance in the 1-0 loss to Roma are symbolic of his issues at Juventus.

The 23-year-old played the entire 90 minutes at the Stadio Olimpico but only managed 18 touches, the third worst for the Bianconeri after Moise Kean (one in exactly 40 seconds) and Paul Pogba (15 in 13 minutes).

After 25 Serie A games this season, Vlahovic has only managed eight goals in 16 appearances, missing eight through injury. After just 23 league matches last campaign, the Serb had scored 17 for Fiorentina before moving to Turin.

The underlying numbers continue to show Vlahovic’s decline with Juventus; on March 6 last year, the striker had scored 20 goals in 31 games played for his two clubs, an average of 0.65 per game. Today, the 23-year-old has scored just 10 in 24, an average of 0.42 per game, a third lower.

The Juventus striker has not scored in his last four league outings and hasn’t netted in back to back games since August.
