Zlatan Ibrahimovic posted a picture to Instagram referring to himself as ‘Fonzie’, which came at almost the exact same time as the confirmation of Milan’s game against Bologna being postponed on Friday evening.

Ibrahimovic, wearing a polo neck jumper and a leather jacket, called himself ‘Fonzie’ in reference to the popular character portrayed by Henry Winkler in the popular american sitcom Happy Days. ‘The Fonz’ as the character is also called, was dubbed ‘the epitome of coolness’ while the show was at the peak of its popularity.

Ibrahimovic gives himself new nickname amidst Milan chaos

The timing of Ibrahimovic’s post has amused and frustrated fans in equal measure. Confirmation of Milan’s game against Bologna being postponed came at almost exactly the same time as Ibra’s post, which led some fans to tell him: “I don’t know if you know, but Bologna-Milan has been called off.”

Others found amusement in the timing of the Instagram post, with one fan commenting: “Impeccable timing.”

Others found the post less amusing, though, with some supporters throwing Ibrahimovic insults such as ‘imbecile’, while others asked if he knew what his role at Milan actually is.
