The Coppa Italia First Round continues today with another four fixtures, Parma-Palermo, Brescia-Venezia, Sampdoria-Como and Torino-Cosenza.
This is the first round proper of the competition, after a brief preliminary stage for the Serie C and B teams.
The winner will be decided on the night after 90 minutes, or it goes straight to a penalty shoot-out, saving sides the strain of extra time in a packed season.
There have already been a few surprises, as Antonio Conte’s Napoli needed a penalty shoot-put to beat Modena last night, while Cesena eliminated Hellas Verona and Bari went out on penalties to Cremonese.
The winner of Brescia-Venezia will go on to face Monza in the next phase, while Parma or Palermo will play Napoli.
The victors of Torino-Cosenza can prepare for a tie against Empoli and Como or Sampdoria will take on Genoa.
