Fiorentina have reportedly identified Genoa striker Albert Gudmundsson as their dream signing for the summer transfer window, despite the fact that the Icelandic international has been linked with a move to either Inter or a club in the Premier League.

La Viola had made serious considerations over signing the 27-year-old while Vincenzo Italiano was still in charge in January, but their proposal of €20m was not considered enough by Genoa.
The price that Fiorentina had been quoted in January was €30m, but that figure is expected to have risen over the final few months of the 2023-24 campaign.
Fiorentina have not yet submitted any sort of formal proposal to Genoa, but La Gazzetta dello Sport and Sky Sport Italia note that their interest is concrete and that representatives from the club are working hard to put an enticing offer together.
The club are already set to sign Juventus striker Moise Kean this summer as part of a major rebuild of their attacking options, but would ideally like to add another proven goalscorer to their ranks.
Inter are also still reportedly considering a move for Gudmundsson, but must first move on a number of their current first teamers, such as veteran Marko Arnautovic. Additionally, La Gazzetta report that there are still a handful of clubs in the Premier League and in Saudi Arabia who are keen to make an offer to Genoa.
If his name was Gudmunssao, Gudmundssoni, Gudmundssuella or Gudmundssoir, he would be valued at 80m euro and would be playing for a top club. Is going from Genoa to Fiorentina an actual step up? At 27, he is basically at/nearing his peak. He needs to move to a serious club in line with his talent.
