According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Arsenal have ‘set aside’ €50m to sign Joshua Zirkzee in the summer, but Bologna believe the Dutch striker is worth as much as Rasmus Hojlund.
Zirkzee is one of the best-emerging strikers in Serie A this season and has been linked with a number of top European clubs for next summer.
Wednesday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport on page 17 confirms Milan, Arsenal and Manchester United are among the clubs interested in the former Bayern Munich starlet.
According to the report, the Red Devils have scouted Zirkzee multiple times this season, while Arsenal have ‘set aside’ €50m they will offer to Bologna over the summer.
However, the Rossoblu are unlikely to sell their talent for just €50m at the end of the season.
According to the report, their director Giovanni Sartori feels Zirkzee’s value is close to Hojlund’s, who joined Manchester United from Atalanta for €80m last summer.
Only Bayern Munich will be allowed to sign Zirkzee for a lower fee, given that the Bavarians have a €40m buy-back clause.
Zirkzee has scored eight goals in 22 appearances across all competitions this season, while Hojlund netted ten goals in 34 Atalanta matches last term.
