Milan dominated at the Stadio Castellani Computer Gross Arena, beating Empoli 3-0 and seeing Ruben Loftus-Cheek score his second Serie A goal this season. Check out player ratings.
Milan
Maignan 6.5 – Excellent save on Cambiaghi in the second half. He made it look easy.
Calabria 6.5 – Flawless performance on the right despite a yellow card in the first half. (70′ Bartesaghi 6)
Kjaer 6 – Once again, he was Milan’s only ‘natural’ centre-back starting. Empoli’s strikers probably kept him busier than expected in the second half. (84′ Gabbia N/A)
Theo Hernández 6.5 – A centre-back and a full-back at the same time. He took the captain’s armband when Calabria was replaced in the second half.
Florenzi 6 – Subbed off before the break, Milan hope it’s not another muscle injury. (35′ Jimenez 6.5).
Adli 6.5 – He had time and space to dictate the tempo.
Reijnders 6 – Played with the autopilot.
Pulisic 7.5 – Lively on the right flank, forced Caprile to a fingertip save in the second half and offered the assist for Traore’s third goal, his first in Serie A.
Loftus-Cheek 8 – Pioli had said on the eve of the game that he wanted to see the English midfielder more involved inside the box and the ex-Chelsea man replied with a goal after just 11 minutes. (70′ Musah 6.5)
Rafael Leao 7.5 – Delivered the assist for RLC. He could have been more consistent, but he was dangerous every time he sprinted down the left wing. (84′ Traore 7).
Giroud 8 – The Frenchman scored the first goal of 2024 with a perfect penalty kick and linked up well with the two wingers and Loftus-Cheek.
Coach: Pioli 6.5 – An attacking performance. Milan’s victory was never in doubt.
Empoli: Caprile 6.5; Ebuehi 6 (28 Ranocchia 6), Ismajli 5, Walukiewicz 5, Luperto 5; Grassi 5 (74′ Marin 5), Maleh 4; Gyasi 4.5, Baldanzi 5.5 (57′ Cancellieri 5), Cambiaghi 4.5; Caputo 5 (74′ Maldini 5). Coach: Andreazzoli 5.5.
Too generous.
Calabria deserved a 6
Pulisic 6.5
RLC 7
Leao 6.5

Pioli probably deserves more, so a 7
