A report from local outlet UOL Esporte claims Carlo Ancelotti has put pen to paper on a contract with the Brazil national team.

The 64-year-old Italian coach quickly emerged as one of the favourites to take over the Selecao after long-term boss Tite departed following the team’s disappointing campaign at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Since his exit, Fernando Diniz has been acting as the caretaker coach.

Ancelotti has less than a year left on his contract with Real Madrid, and many expect the Italian to make the switch in the summer. In recent weeks, reports suggested that Los Blancos were hoping to offer a new deal to the coach.

As reported by UOL Esporte via TMW, Ancelotti has now signed his contract with the Brazil FA to become the next head coach of the national team, starting in the summer of 2024.

The report has not gone down well in Spain. The 64-year-old is still contracted to Real Madrid until June 30 and the club have not authorised him to sign any future agreements, so he could be at risk of being sanctioned.

  1. This is getting ridiculous. Managers should follow the same protocols players do in regards to national teams. This is getting ridiculous.
