The official line-ups are in for the second fixture on Friday evening’s Serie A schedule, as Alberto Gilardino’s Genoa host Hellas Verona, who currently find themselves in the division’s bottom three.

The hosts are currently three points better off than their opponents heading into the tie, and find themselves in 15th place in the league at the time of writing.

Italy international and Genoa’s first choice striker Mateo Retegui will be unavailable through injury. He has also been omitted form Luciano Spalletti’s latest Azzurri squad for November’s Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Verona have a healthier squad of players available to choose from, but a recent run of disappointing results means that three points are very much required against Genoa.

Kick-off is set for 19.45 GMT.

Genoa (3-5-2): Martinez; Dragusin, Bani, Vasquez; Sabelli, Frendrup, Badelj, Strootman, Haps; Gudmundsson, Ekuban.

Verona (3-4-1-2): Montipò; Amione, Hien, Magnani; Terracciano, Folorunsho, Hongla, Doig; Suslov, Bonazzoli; Djuric.
