Following reports that Alessandro Del Piero could be tempted by the offer of a role in Saudi Arabia with Al-Nassr, it has since been confirmed that the former Juventus man will fly to Riyadh to hold talks with the club.
According to information provided by Calciomercato.com, Del Piero is set to jet off for the Saudi capital within the next couple of hours to listen to Al-Nassr’s proposals in-person.
It is believed that Del Piero has been offered the role of sporting director with the Saudi Pro League side. The offer is now being seriously considered as per Calciomercato’s report.
Del Piero has not officially returned to the professional game since retiring as a player at the end of the 2014-15 season, and has instead focussed his time on media appearances and punditry roles.
He has, however, begun studying for his UEFA Pro License at Coverciano on a course that began in September.
Until relatively recently, it had been rumoured that Del Piero could be set to return to Juventus to help with what has been described as the ‘post-Agnelli rebuild,’ however, a new challenge in the Middle East now seems the more likely scenario.
