According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Serie A champions Napoli have pounced on Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat as Manchester United have failed to meet the Tuscans’ asking price.

The Morocco international is pushing to leave the Stadio Franchi and has not yet been deployed by Vincenzo Italiano this season.

Amrabat has been linked with Barcelona, Manchester United and Liverpool this summer, but according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli are now interested in the 27-year-old midfielder. The pink paper claims the Red Devils have not matched Fiorentina’s €30m asking price, so Amrabat is unlikely to move to Old Trafford this summer.

According to the report, Napoli could now make an offer to sign the Moroccan on loan with an obligation to buy. This formula would satisfy club Presidents Aurelio De Laurentiis and Rocco Commisso who are said to be on good terms.

Fiorentina director Daniele Pradé has recently confirmed that Amrabat wants to leave.

The Morocco international has less than one year left in his contract at the Stadio Franchi, but Fiorentina have an option to extend until 2025.

According to Gazzetta, Galatasaray midfielder Lucas Torreira is Napoli’s secondary target if Fiorentina refuse to sell Amrabat.
