Mamuka Jugeli, the agent of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, arrived at Napoli’s pre-season training retreat on Monday to start contract negotiations with the club.

The 22-year-old Georgian winger was one of the stars of the show in Napoli’s high-flying campaign last season, directly contributing to 25 goals in 34 league matches, attracting the attention from clubs across Europe.

Kvaratskhelia has been linked with various top teams this summer, but Napoli have no intention of losing the starlet.

Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com details how Jugeli met with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis on Monday to start discussing the terms of a new contract for Kvaratskhelia.

The goal is to extend his deal until 2028 with an option for a further year and to raise his salary significantly, reflective of his new-found star status in Campania.

The Georgian winger is hoping to at least double his current €1.3m net per season salary and both parties are optimistic that a deal can be agreed soon.

Kvaratskhelia has never been tempted by any offers from the Premier League and wants to move forward with Napoli, continuing the adventure that he started 12 months ago.
