Messages of support have begun to flood in for Paul Pogba following the latest injury setback he picked up during Juventus’ 2-0 win over Cremonese in Serie A on Sunday evening.
The Frenchman was visibly distraught as he went down clutching his knee and thigh against La Cremo. The injury is understood to be related to his left quadricep.
Juventus supporters can barely believe Pogba’s luck after being withdrawn just 20 minutes into his first start for the club since returning from Manchester United in the summer.
Coincidentally, his last start in England also ended with a first half substitution, lasting just 10 minutes of United’s 4-0 Premier League loss against Liverpool at Anfield in April, 2022.
For a spell in the hours following Pogba’s latest injury, the hashtag #ForzaPaul was briefly trending on twitter, where thousands of fans sent messages of support to Juve’s no. 10.
One supporter wrote: “Pogba made me cry too, this guy’s misfortune is unbelievable,” whilst another added: “There’s nothing that can be done. What happened to Pogba is what has also happened to Juventus this year, a symbol of a cursed and unfortunate season.”
Another fan tweeted: “My heart cries for Pogba,” whilst others added: “we are all with you.”
Juventus’ official twitter account has also sent out a tweet with a photo of Pogba, where hundreds more fans have replied with messages of encouragement as he begins the road to recovery.
The 30-year-old is currently undergoing assessments at Juventus’ medical facility in Turin to understand the extent of the damage.
