Reports in the Spanish press claim that Juventus are keen on the idea of making a move to sign Villarreal defender Pau Torres in the summer transfer window.

With two years left on his current deal with the Yellow Submarine, it is understood by Spanish outlet Sport that the club could look to sell in order to maximise any potential incoming transfer fee.

As per Calciomercato, the release clause in Torres’ Villarreal contract currently stands at €50m and there have reportedly already been two separate meetings between Juventus and the player’s agents, which have been described as “optimistic.”

However, no official deal has yet been signed off on, and the Bianconeri must first discover which European competition they will be playing in next season before committing to any major incomings in the transfer window.

Torres is a player who is familiar to the Old Lady, after converting from a Villarreal corner during their 3-0 win at the Allianz Stadium in the Champions League Round of 16 second leg in 2022, helping to knock Massimiliano Allegri’s side out of the competition.

Villarreal have become accustomed to parting ways with at least one senior figure in most recent summer windows in order to fund the rest of their business and could be tempted into parting ways with Torres if the right fee comes in.
