Atalanta have officially signed teenage striker Rasmus Hojlund from Sturm Graz for €17m, a huge expense for the Dane tipped to be the new Erling Haaland.

The 19-year-old centre-forward was also targeted by Club Brugge and other clubs, but La Dea came in with a winning €17m proposal.

Hojlund passed his medical and signed a five-year contract with the Bergamo side.

He has already played eight competitive games for Sturm Graz so far this season, contributing six goals and three assists, including the winner in the Champions League preliminary round against Dinamo Kiev.

A product of the Brondby youth academy, Sturm Graz purchased him for €1.8m from FC Copenhagen in January 2022 and in just six months his value on the market has multiplied by almost 10 times.

Born in February 2003 and already standing at 1.91m tall, his combination of height, pace and power have seen comparisons to Manchester City star Haaland.

The centre-forward is left-footed and at 19 already has three caps for Denmark at Under-21 level.
