Napoli duo Matteo Politano and Stanislav Lobotka will miss the upcoming Europa League match against Barcelona.

The 28-year-old Politano suffered an elongation of the soleus muscle in his right leg in the 1-1 draw with Inter on Sunday, forcing him off the pitch after just 26 minutes. It seemed to be a fairly painful injury, and has surely been a frustrating setback for the former Inter man.

As highlighted by Il Mattino, Stanislav Lobotka has also been ruled out of the match after suffering a low-grade hamstring injury in his right thigh, which will keep him sidelined for at least two weeks. Politano’s injury will force him out of action for around 10-15 days, meaning both players will miss Napoli’s match against Barcelona on Thursday.

The Partenopei duo will also miss this weekend’s match against Cagliari and so they’ll try to be fit in time for the return leg against the Blaugrana, scheduled for February 24.
