Juventus have only collected 28 points in 17 matches this season and can slip nine points behind a Champions League spot if Atalanta beat Hellas Verona today. Who is to blame for their crisis? Comment on the liveblog.

The Serie A giants picked up a 1-1 draw against newly-promoted side Venezia who had met Juventus on the back of three defeats in a row.

The Bianconeri haven’t had such a bad start for more than 20 years with Marcello Lippi in charge.

The hashtag #Allegriout is trending in Italy, but Juventus fans debate who is to blame for their team’s poor results in Serie A this term.

Although Juventus won their Champions League group ahead of Chelsea, they lost 4-0 in London and their results in Italy have been beyond disappointing this term.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit undoubtedly had an impact as the Portuguese ace was able to score 101 goals in 134 appearances with the Bianconeri during his three-year stay at the club.

Juventus have scored just 23 goals in 17 Serie A games this term, the fewest among the top ten teams in Italy.

So, who do you think is to blame for Juventus’ results? Discuss on the liveblog.

  1. Covid is to blame really. The decrease in revenue made it impossible to replace the stars that left because of old age. Pjanic, Matuidi, Khedira, Mandzukic, Higuain and Ronaldo. They were replaced by second-tier players because of the economic reality of Covid.

People say the squad is the same also during Sarri, but that’s very inaccurate. Look at how many world cup finalists left our squad over the last 2 – 3 years…

And people wanting Ronaldo to be sold because “he was the problem”, really look like fools now.

  2. Zambrotta I’m afraid you’re wrong. Marotta left way before COVID. And that’s when things really went downhill! Covid has had an impact but the players that everyone says are useless were signed before COVID, like Ramsey, Rabiot, etc. Covid just made the signings we made the only ones we could make and even those have been done awfully. Paratici really didn’t have a clue and it’s a sad indictment of the analysts that the big transfers have been so bad. It’s all been desperate like getting Kean and Morata back.

I really hope he gives some of the youthful players a chance as they’ve actually impressed!

  3. I blame fabio paratici for all that’s hapening to juventus. He spened kicked out all juve top players so hiws flops ramsey and rabiot can play.Lest not forget that sari won seria a whit matuidi khedira and higuain, leavin ramsey rabiot and some others paratici flops worming d bench.Next season he kicked our top players so his flops can get playin time. And now alegri is FORCED to play them hopin that they can sell them in d winter.Hope we get some fullback cos lets face it alex sandro is not good to be second choise after pellegrini

  4. covid to blamed?? how about you see what marotta did on inter the last 3 years. especially the last 2 years since covid. also look what maldini did on milan with tight budget.

juventus problem is agnelli nedved and paratici never appreciate what marotta had done for juventus. when juventus fired him and he went to inter straight after that, its like giving inter free scudetto. he KNEW juventus couldnt build team around ronaldo because juventus didnt have financial power to do so, that why he rejected the idea to signing CR7 since beginning yet the trio agnelli nedved paratici never saw or appreciate what marotta doing.

so dont blame covid etc. every football clubs except few (PSG, and most english teams) has financial problem but they still doing fine (RM,AM,Bayern, etc). the upper management of juventus who need to be blamed for juventus downfall.

  5. All juve staff have to be bkamed. Selling and buying the same players was wrong. Also, the right buying players never came on. Juventus do not buy expensive players it is its DNA. They controll their buxhet but it is going wrong and not beeing competitive. Then, what is to be done? Sorry, but Moxhi had a very strong juve. Could be a clever ideas to lift juventus when it’place be?

  6. I’m not saying Covid is the only reason, but it is a big contributor. Many stars left and there was no money to replace them. Without Covid, it would have probably gone different.

Milan is a different story. Maybe Covid helped them, because they couldn’t sign 7 or 8 new players like they were doing every year and their team gelled together. Also, they had been underperforming for more than a decade so there wasn’t that much pressure on them.

Paratici made some mistakes, but he also signed some young players like De Ligt and Kulusevski, which haven’t all worked out. But every team manager makes bad signings. Look at Inter signing Dumfries or Godin. In fact, the first signs of decline at Juve happened when Pirlo, Vidal and Pogba were sold without proper replacements. Marotta was in charge back than, so you can just as well blame him.

  7. i choose to blame Nedved. He recommend to change Marota with Paratici and change Alegri with Sarri.. Everything starting to crumble right away and the damage need years to overcome

  8. Cant blame Alegri. He took the job with CR7 in the team and the guy quits 2 days before the transfer window ends. Moise Kean as a replacement?? No offence but he isnt on the same planet as CR7.
The midfield is very weak, no defensive midfielder and not many players who can keep the ball and pass it well.
Plus LOADS of injuries to key players- right now they are missing Chiesa, Dybala, Danilo, Kulusevski and McKennie. That is 4 first choice players and a good sub option.
So no way can I blame Alegri for this mess.
He has worked miracles in the CL, and in Serie A it is a harsh reality check. Morata, Rabiot, Bentancur and Alex Sandro arent that great anymore!

  9. The midfield has no competition.
Players as Fagioli ,Ranocchia and Mandragora should be good option to come of the bence and give some competition to Bentacur, Arthur or Rabiot.
To much foreign players taking over italian places on the field and the bence.

  10. Need Pellegrini or Pessina verratti to boost midfield need a decent CB too vlahovic as a striker wouldn’t go amiss just need €€ss

  11. To be honest, if the players would be capable of actually scoring goals, the situation in Serie would look much better. Maybe only 4 points behind Inter.
See how many opportunities they wasted, also against Venezia e.g. Remember all the games were Juve lost points due to a lucky strike of the opponent because they didn’t seal the win beforehand. Need more concentration or clinical players/strikers.

  12. I blame the f*****g injuries. Take a look at what happened to Liverpool last year when the injury crisis hit them. They got “zero tituli”. Look! I’m not a fan of Allegri but Juve under his command is almost unstoppable if all his starting players are fully fit. Let’s make it simple, Yes, Allegri doesn’t play very detailed football tactics like Pep or Conte. But he’s a great leader in the dressing room and can make the players follow his instructions to get the needed results. To people who constantly bashed him as a defensive-minded coach, I need to remind you Juve in 16/17 played attacking formation 4-2-3-1 with 4 forwards on the pitch: Higuain, Dybala, Cuadrado, Mandzukic.
