Juventus coach Max Allegri returned to Turin ahead of the current season, but fans are losing their patience after a poor start to the campaign and ‘Allegri out’ is now trending on social media. Join the discussion on the Liveblog…

The Bianconeri are eighth in Serie A after 14 games but are closer to the bottom half than the top four in Italy.

Allegri replaced Andrea Pirlo at the helm over the summer, as the former midfielder was sacked when Juventus finished fourth in Serie A and were eliminated from the Champions League in the last 16.

Allegri: ‘Once Juventus are realistic, pressure will drop off’

Juventus won two trophies in 2020-21, picking up the Supercoppa Italiana and the Coppa Italia, but were aiming higher despite the rejuvenation of the squad in Turin.

Pirlo was replaced with Allegri, who has helped the team qualify for the last 16 of the European Cup but suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to Chelsea in London and thus lost the momentum in the battle for the top spot in the group.

After another setback against Atalanta at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday, the fans are asking for answers from the players and the coach at Continassa and ‘Allegri out’ is now trending on Twitter in Italy.

Do you agree the Tuscan coach should be sacked, or should the Bianconeri give him more time? Join the discussion on the Liveblog below.

  1. If he should stay they he’s got to adopt to mordern football and put more faith in his young players. Pirlo coached the same set of players and brought out the best in Ciesa, Authur, Cuadrado, Danilo, and others how come these players especially Juve most offensive player Ciesa is struggling seriously? It shows alegri style of play isn’t good enough. Either he upgrade his game or step asides. But beyond the coaches and players the upper management needs to steady the ship. Enough of poor decision making and questionable transfer deals for players who have noting significant to add to the team. I wish Juve can bring Marotta back!

  2. Come on, this is an old and done team. The only thing Juventus has is an elite center of defense, the rest is just average: terzinos, center of the field, and attack. Pirlo would be doing even worse than Allegri, to say “with the same team” when the guy who scored 30 goals or more is gone. Yeah good story

  3. I think allegri has to do the honourable thing now and resign. The situation is not all his fault , juventus have paid a heavy price for losing marotta, the recruitment policy over the past few years has been poor, rabiot, arthur, Mckennie , bentacur, Ramsey are just not good enough. De ligt for 70 million is head scratcher, especially when inter signed bastoni for less than half that price ??. He has also had to deal with losing Ronaldo, any team losing a player who scores 25+ Will find things hard. Where I cannot excuse allegri is they style in which his team continues to play, however limited the list of dud players is above , they are probably superior to many teams in serie a. Juventus play a pragmatic and slow pace style of football, there’s no energy or urgency in their play. He continues to play an outdated 4-4-2 system, why when most top sides in Europe play 4-3-3, or 4-5-2? His management style seems to be stifling his best players, chiesa for example left the European champion ship as one of the top players in the world., he has only shown glimpses of that ability so far this season , you have to question why allegri is not able to get the best out of Italy’s best player

  4. You can’t blame Allergi. The seasons we played the CL final, we played attacking football. He just knows we don’t have the squad or confidence to play attacking right now. Over the last two seasons the best midfielder, Pjanic, and best attacker, Ronaldo, were sold, without a decent replacement. Also, 4 WC finalists/winners left: Higuain, Mandzukic, Matuidi and Khedira. It shows that all that experience left and you cannot expect youth to make up for that. Look at other squads, like Dortmund, they have a lot of youth and potential, but they don’t win and struggle in CL too. For results, you need experience, which we lost in droves over the past few years. Look at Ajax, they are doing well because they bought experience, Haller, Tadic and Blind. You can blame management for poor transfer, mainly Marotta for selling Pogba, Vidal and releasing Pirlo without decent replacements. But the main problem has been a lack of funds because of Covid. Otherwise we would have surely bought a few midfielders the last two years. Also, Pirlo was given the choice between a midfielder and an attacker last summer and he choose Chiesa over Aouar. So it is not all management fault.

  5. Stupid fans!
Alegri is a good coach who got Juve to 2 Champions League finals and has already got Juve into the last 16 of the Champions League yet again!
He has a team with a DIRE midfield, a second rate center forward and players with low confidence.
He was NEVER given the players he asked for when he took the job on. (I would argue Pirlo wasn’t given a good enough squad either but that is another question.)
The simple fact is that Juve need some transfers in January, and without that, NO COACH, not even Klopp or Pep Guardiola, is suddenly going to make Rabiot, Bentancur and Morata play well. They just arent that good.

  6. I have been watching my beloved Juventus since the 1970’s and trust my words, this is one of the worst Juventus teams ever constructed. If you look for the 1-0 only result you have to be perfect. That worked back in the old days as everybody was playing this way. Today the game is played differently. I keep hearing about Guardiola, Klopp and Tuchel could not coach this squad any better. Pardon me they have risen from the bottom to get where they are today, so please stop with this BS. The more important question is what would those clubs look like if Allegri was to handle their squads. It would be defend, defend and try to be pragmatic. For those who are blaming the players I keep repeating that Sarri and Pirlo had the same players. Sarri had 7 defeats, Pirlo had five and Allegri is already on 5, plus the season is not even half way yet. At this rate Allegri will rack up double digit defeats for sure. We are stuck with him as once again Agnelli has given him a 4 year contract. Even if he is replaced, we lose again by paying another manager to sit at home for many years. Who would take Allegri? No big club will come back to look at him. Marina Granovskaia would not look twice at him after seeing the debacle in London. Maybe Man Utd would be foolish enough but nobody else. Unfortunately we are stuck with him for 4 years. We are not going to be getting the fantasy football players as there is no money. Vlahovic would not solve anything as there is no midfield and it will not be addressed. The top 3 positions are already locked and we are not making top 4. This is a good thing as we need to hit rock bottom. Unfortunately Faraoni just hid the cracks and we decided to put a bucket under an already leaking roof. Being out of top 4 will be good for us as we need to be humbled and start from afresh. Selling the club is not happening as Exor is a family operated company and is going nowhere. We are heading into the Berlusconi twilight period and selling would be best but not happening. Football is changing and Newcastle as well as other clubs will choke us further. Dark days ahead but still support the club till the end.

  7. Ciao Amici!
I am really worried about this Juve team as they have no clear plan to score!
I don’t understand how every body play so below thier level!
    Chiesa, Locatelli,Bernardeschi,…..
I was wondering if their Fitness Coach is doing a good job as every body dropped Physically and have not been Mentally strong either!

  8. All is not lost for the mighty Turin kittens. Cherubini is already shopping in the English second tier for Mitrovic and I heard they are taking a trip to Tranmere Rovers to scout the their talent. Agnelli is arranging a trip to Marrakesh in search of second hand rugs. Maybe he will ask the merchants if they can play football. Perhaps he will start advertising on the jobsites looking for free interns to play for no money, just the experience. Car boot sales and the local farmers markets are another great place to find hidden gems. I heard they went black friday hunting, but Commisso rejected the offer of free car washes, 2 goats, a wicker basket, 2 loaves of bread, a bottle of wine and a free coupon for Vlahovic.

  9. It’s not Allegri’s fault. He useless players like Rabiot, Bentancur, Morata, Scesz to make do with. Even Cuadrado and Danilo are not Juve quality. And we basically have no depth. This is all of the poor decisions made by management which Allegri was hired to clean up. Allegri has already proven himself the first time. The players he had back then weren’t useless like these ones.

  10. We’ve said this before and we’ll say it again, Allegri has NEVER been a top tier coach. Pirlo was and is ALWAYS going to be far better than him.

  11. Yes. His team plays a garbage style of football. Hope he continues to get hammered by other teams in Serie A and CL. You clowns keep thinking that transfers are going to solve Juve’s problems. They had 1 of the best players of all time, CR7 and Juve still got nowhere and fired Allegri. They have Chiesa, Locatelli, players that can shine when coached properly. But I’ve seen this guy ruin aggressive, attacking players, Pjanic at Roma was world class until he decided to be chained by Allegri. Locatelli is headed for the same drain. Yes, their midfield has not been good for some time but its because they don’t play as a team but as a group of individuals. Rabiot, Bentancur when they 1st started at Juve had pace, aggression. Now they look completely lost, just ball watchers, strolling on the field.

  12. It may not as strong a squad we have had previously, but there is absolutely no way to justify this Serie A position when you have Dybala, Chiesa, Locatelli, Bonucci, Chiellini, De Light, Arthur, and Cuadrado together in a squad. Every single team in the table above Juve would gladly pick all of them today. Allegri HAS to take the blame for this. It’s not just their position, it’s also their play. They look incredibly lousy.

  13. Vittorio you are absolutely right to question the fitness staff. We have had several soft tissue injuries (thigh strains, hamstrings, calfs) and this must be due to either working the players too hard, inadequate training/fitness techniques or the training ground surface at Continassa is a problem. Either way, they need to look at this very closely as we lose too many players for crucial games. We’ve now lost Chiesa for at least 4 weeks.

  14. Allegri is a dinosaur who has learnt nothing in his 2 year holiday. Instead of going to visit other leagues and teams to learn from some of the more progressive coaches, he just vegetated. His methods are outdated, boring, reactive and above all else, not bringing results. Under him a team already with low confidence is even lower in confidence, a poor midfield has become poorer, and a club which does not give youth a chance is even worse in that regard under Allegri. Before he arrived things were not good, but they are much worse under this phoney. Klopp, Guardiola, Pioli, Inzaghi, Gasperini to name a few, would all have this team playing a better brand of football and even if not getting immediate results, you would at least see progress. Under Allegri there is no progress, there is no hope. Chiesa, De Ligt, Pellegrini, Kulusevski, Jorge – get the hell out before he destroys your careers

  15. People that think Allegri is a dinosaur are too quick to judge. Apart from a handful of players he’s dealing with an awful squad this time around! This crop is simply not intelligent enough to carry out his tactical ideas!

Playing a 4-4-2 is far from defensive! If anything he needs to adopt a more defensive formation so to cover up the $h1t show that is our midfield!

I’ll probably get shot down for this, but a 3-5-2 would surely suit the characteristics of the players at his disposal. It would encourage more wing play, and crosses in the box will probably suit Morata better.

In defence I would have Danilo, De Ligt and Chiellini (Danilo could then transition effortlessly into a RB should we need to change formation during a game or when supporting the attack)

In centre midfield I would like to see Bonucci tried in the regista role (for his passing and defensive acumen), flanked by Locatelli and Rabiot (who show promise as me mezzala’s), with Sandro/Pellegrini at LWB and Cuadrado playing RWB (Like Danilo, he can transition easily into a wide forward when attacking or adopting a formation change).

    Up top, Morata and Dybala

Team to play when all are fit (3-5-2)

    Szcezny

    Danilo
    De Ligt
    Chiellini

    Cuadrado
    Rabiot
    Bonucci
    Locatelli
Sandro / Pellegrini / De Sciglio

    Morata
    Chiesa

In addition to bolster the squad they should try to move heaven and earth to sign Vahovic in January and the should also bring back Rovella, Fagioli, Ranocchia to give more midfield options.

  16. @Jedi Master Allegri Commander Of The Back Pass: Commisso rejected the offer of free car washes, 2 goats, a wicker basket, 2 loaves of bread, a bottle of wine and a free coupon for Vlahovic ? that’s too much…with that offer you can buy Inter from Zhang ! afterall, anything the Zhang family owns or invests in turns to crap anyways !

  17. Branca you behave yourself or I will put you on the naughty step. That is why dangerboy has been absent as he let one off in the never regions when Juventus lost over the weekend.

  18. @Jedi Idiot and dangermom, must be hurt for your retarded brain to deal with the reality that all good players like Vlahovic prefer Juve to Intersh*t club. LMAO… now stupid troll, go back to your pathetic room and play with your toys.
