Cristian Romero has flown to London for his Tottenham Hotspur medical, as Atalanta replace him with Juventus defender Merih Demiral, and only the announcements are missing.
The transfers could be announced this evening, with the deals already done over the last few days and only the final paperwork needed to complete the moves.
Spurs are paying €50m plus €5m in bonuses to Atalanta for Argentina international Romero, who already had the first part of his medical in Italy.
Those negotiations had begun around July 13 and Barcelona were also involved, but could not afford to do anything other than a loan with option to buy.
As for Atalanta, they have already secured his replacement in Juventus and Turkey international defender Demiral.
He will arrive on loan at a cost of €2.5m with option to buy for another €25m, plus Juventus will receive a cut of any future transfer fee.
Both players are expected to sign contracts running to June 2026.
