The Brazilian forward has scored 15 goals in 33 games and continues to play a key role at the Sardegna Arena, but the 29-year-old has been linked with a move away in recent transfer windows.

His agent claims the former Palermo man has already proved his worth to Cagliari and continues to deliver in Sardinia.

“He had already demonstrated in the past years,” Piccioli told TMW. “Both last year and this year, he is consecrating himself with important numbers.

“On the market, we had to deal with the COVID situation. It’s not always easy to face the various changes.

“But Joao is surely having a great championship. We will see what the transfer market presents us.”

But even with other clubs reportedly interested in the former Brazil U20 international, Piccioli reveals there’s an agreement with the President at Cagliari.

“There’s a word with the President. I believe he will please him,” Piccioli added. “At the moment there are no signatures, but there’s a general agreement.”

Joao Pedro’s current contract with the Casteddu expires in June 2023 and the attacker has so far played 228 competitive games with the Rossoblu, contributing 72 goals and 24 assists in the process.
