Napoli forward Arkadiusz Milik has revealed he had accepted offers from other clubs, but the Partenopei blocked the move. 'I haven't been treated well’.
With reports regarding an agreed deal with Juventus and a medical at Roma, Milik seemed set for a move away from the San Paolo during the last transfer market.
The 26-year-old centre-forward remained in Naples and reveals the ‘clubs in question’ never reached an agreement with the Azzurri.
“Napoli wanted to extend and gave me a decision: sign or leave,” Milik told Sportowefakty.pl. “I decided to try something new elsewhere.
“My agent was looking for a new solution, some teams were interested, and we talked.
“The pandemic, however, made it more complicated, even for other players. I don’t want to name the teams that have contacted me, but the truth is that I had accepted some of the offers.
“But the teams in question never reached an agreement with Napoli and I had to stay.”
Milik was later excluded from the players registered to play in Serie A and Europe, and the Poland international revealed he learned about the decision in the newspapers.
“I heard it from the press. I expected this decision but the lack of communication from the club is not professional,” Milik added. “I believe I haven’t been treated well.
“There are other players who didn’t renew but for them everything is calm. I have been the leading goalscorer of the team in the last two seasons and I have always given 100 per cent.
“I have no regrets for what I have done and what I have decided. I will suffer a little, but I will resist.”
