The league had an assembly this evening, via video call, in order to resolve the issue of how the season shall be finished once the worst of the Coronavirus passes.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira, the clubs rejected the proposal of play-offs and play-outs to decide the current Serie A season.

The idea going forward is to play games every three days, and to use the entire month of June to bring the season to its natural conclusion.

This would most certainly mean that Euro 2020 would be postponed, as looks increasingly likely.

The idea of the play-off and play-out was the brainchild of current FIGC President Gabriele Gravina.

However such a scenario hasn’t been seen in the Italian top flight since the 2004-05 season.
