The Denmark international arrived from Tottenham Hotspur in January and has already played two games, starting last weekend against Udinese at the Dacia Arena.

Eriksen helps fuel the expectations at San Siro by claiming he decided to move to Antonio Conte’s side to help them win the title.

Juventus have been winning for a long time, we want to change things,” he told the Gazzetta dello Sport. “That’s what I’m here for. The consistency of winning is a factor and Juventus have that.

“There’s also Lazio up there with us.”

Eriksen revealed that everything is a lot more organised at Inter and admitted that Conte’s training sessions are "very hard".

“I only spoke to Conte once before I arrived in Milan, and he was very direct with me,” Eriksen said. “He told me how he sees me and what he wants from me at the pitch, with and without the ball.

“Everything is much more organised. And yes, his training sessions are very hard, but I’m ready. I want to play where I can have the ball. It doesn’t matter where, but I need to stay in the middle of the pitch to create something going forward.

“Conte plays with three in the middle and it’s a bit different, but the most important thing is to have the possibility to create.”

He said the expectations aren’t weighing him down and has claimed he is at San Siro to shoulder some of the pressure.

“I don’t feel the weight of the responsibility,” he said. “During my last years at Tottenham and with Denmark, I was always called upon to take responsibility. I’m used to it.

“Nothing changes at Inter. I want to be the player that makes a difference, that scores, that creates. I need time, that’s obvious, but in football you can’t wait too long before you become decisive. I love everything about football, except losing.”

Inter are currently preparing for the Derby della Madonnina against Milan on Sunday and the 27-year-old is looking forwards to what he expects to be a “beautiful” game.

“I have seen some of the games on TV before, but now I’m playing and it will be completely different,” he added. “I expect a different atmosphere to London. Here, the whole stadium will sing, there will be a lot of noise, it will be beautiful.”

He will come up against the former Sweden international Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his national teammate Simon Kjaer.

“[Me and Zlatan] are very different. He will be more used to these kinds of games, I’m making my debut,” Eriksen said. “I travelled from Odense to Milanello [at 15], for two days. I tried out for the Primavera. When I returned, I was evaluating, ‘do I go or do I not?’

“Italy seemed very far from home; I was very tied with my family. But they never got back to me.”

“What scares me about Milan? My friend, Kjaer. I spoke a lot with him! No, nothing scares me. We are in a better position, but anything can happen in the derby. It doesn’t matter who they pick to play for them.”
