Cagliari boss Rolando Maran maintains they were the better side in their 2-2 draw against Brescia. “Robin Olsen only touched the ball nine times in the first half.”

The Sardinian outfit took the lead against the Rondinelle, before falling 2-1 behind, before Joao Pedro levelled the game, and Maran believes his side merited the victory.

“We played well, we created a lot of chances and the build up to our goals was very good,” said Maran in his press conference.

“We played well, we created a lot of chances and the build up to our goals was very good,” said Maran in his press conference.

“We never lost the will and confidence, and we tried until the very end.

“In the first half Robin Olsen touched the ball nine times. It’s too bad because we deserved three points.”

“The regret is not having brought home a victory, but also combined with the awareness of what we have done during the game, we should’ve won.

Maran was pleased with attitude of his team however.

“We needed a performance of heart and character, and we showed it. Now let’s see what we will do against Parma next weekend.

“We must know how to take positives from the game.”

Mario Balotelli was sent off after only being on the pitch for seven minutes, with his second yellow card awarded for insulting the referee, so what did Maran think of his expulsion?

“I find it hard to judge, only those who heard what he said can do so.”
