Legendary Milan coach believes Ancelotti made the wrong choice in joining the Southern Italian club.

“When Ancelotti went to Napoli it was the first time in his career that he started a new adventure without asking me anything.

“And it was a good thing because I would’ve told him not to go to there," Sacchi explained to Tuttomercatoweb.

“The reason being that Sarri had done fantastic work that only a few of us really understood.”

Ancelotti was replaced by Rino Gattuso, who has returned the side to using a 4-3-3, after Ancelotti had ditched the system installed by Sarri in favour of a 4-4-2.

Gattuso lost his opening game at home to Parma.
