Inter are facing a midfield injury crisis as they take on Slavia Prague tonight in a must-win game for the Nerazzurri.

It kicks off at the Eden Arena at 20.00 GMT.

Nicolo Barella was taken off at half time during the 3-0 win over Torino and the midfielder requires knee surgery, sidelining the player for at least a month.

Antonio Conte is also without Kwadwo Asamoah, who joins Stefano Sensi, Alexis Sanchez and Barella on the injured list.

Roberto Gagliardini is available for selection, but is only half-fit, and so won’t be expected to start.

Borja Valero, so far scarcely used under Conte, should be granted his first start of the season in the middle of the park.

Cristiano Biraghi will replace Asamoah at left wing-back.

The hosts, by contrast, have more or less a full squad to choose from.

The only absence is defender David Hovorka, who is out for the season with a knee injury.

However, Tomas Soucek, Petr Sevcik and Lukas Masopust all have muscular issues and require late fitness tests, while goalkeeper Ondrej Kolar is also a slight doubt.

The Czechs are expected to utilise a 4-1-4-1 formation.

This is a must-win game for Inter if they are to have any chance of making it through to the Round of 16.

The two sides drew 1-1 at San Siro on match day one, thanks to a stoppage-time Barella volley to equalise.

Slavia Prague (probable): Kolar; Coufal, Kudela, Frydrych, Boril; Soucek; Sevcik, Traoré, Stanciu, Olayinka; Masopust

Inter (probable): Handanovic; Godin, De Vrij, Skriniar; Candreva, Vecino, Borja Valero, Brozovic, Biraghi; Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez
