Milan have reportedly offered former defender Alessandro Costacurta the role of team manager.

According to Sport Mediaset, the Rossoneri approached the 53-year-old about the possibility of him returning to the club where he spent 21 years as a player.

Milan are in the midst of a huge shakeup, with Coach Gennaro Gattuso and sporting director Leonardo both leaving the club on Tuesday.

Paolo Maldini is being tipped to replace Leo, and he could be joined at San Siro by another club legend in Costacurta.

‘Billy’, as he is affectionately known, was one of Carlo Ancelotti’s Milan assistants during the 2007-2008 campaign, before leaving to take over as Coach of then-Serie B side Mantova.

He has also been a Sky Sport Italia pundit since 2010 and briefly worked for the FIGC alongside commissioner Roberto Fabbricini last year.
