There had been reports of negotiations over the last couple of weeks, but Sky Sport Italia claim this evening that a deal is imminent.
It’ll be a loan deal with option to buy for around €2m, which will become an obligation if Cagliari avoid relegation.

The 32-year-old had already worked with Coach Maran at Chievo and he arrives to effectively replace former teammate Lucas Castro, who is out for the season with a serious knee ligament injury.
Slovenia international Birsa has been at Chievo since 2014, but made little impact this season with two goals and two assists in 17 Serie A appearances.
