The German international did report for pre-season training, but an achilles injury has kept him out for all of the season so far.

Now though Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that he could be included in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad to face Chievo, starting the match on the bench.

Simone Verdi should also be back, while Faouzi Ghoulam may make his first appearance in a year after two knee injuries.

One player who won’t be making his debut though is Alex Meret, with Gazzetta continuing to report that the goalkeeper is out until 2019.
