The midfielder, who some are calling the ‘New Andrea Pirlo’, has just received his first senior Azzurri call-up at the age of 18 thanks to his performances in Serie B and the Under-21 side.

He has been linked with numerous clubs, including Juventus, Inter, Milan, Napoli, Roma, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City.

“I’d prefer to stay in Italy,” Tonali told Rai Sport after the Nations League game with Portugal last night.

This would effectively rule out the Premier League options, narrowing the bidding war to Serie A sides.
