Parma Coach Roberto D’Aversa acknowledges Napoli are “one of the best teams in Serie A” but “we’ll try to bring home a result”.

The Ducali travel to the Stadio San Paolo tomorrow to face Carlo Ancelotti’s men, and the tactician spoke in the pre-match Press conference this afternoon.

“After a good win with a very good performance, we have a game against a very strong team,” D’Aversa began.

“Considering the fact that only two days have passed since Saturday afternoon, the strength we need for the game could come from playing at the San Paolo.

“There could be a lack of sharpness after two matches so close together, but I think the mental aspect will be more important.

“We have the chance to come up against a team that gave Juventus a hard fight for the Scudetto last season, and we know we’re facing one of the best teams in Serie A, not to mention one of the best Coaches.

“Ancelotti is trying to impose his ideas, he’s given the players a bit more freedom to try and exploit their characteristics.

“There’s nothing impossible in life though, and we’ll try to bring home a result despite how good the opponents are.

“Ancelotti has shown a lot, not just in Italy but at the European level too. He’s always achieved huge objectives, no matter how the team plays.

“Right now he’s playing a 4-4-2 – which is really more of a 4-2-4 – and in those wonderful years at Milan he played with a Christmas tree formation.

“He’s always been a great Coach in terms of managing the players, every player speaks really highly of him, both those who have played for him and even those who haven’t.

“I was lucky enough to meet him in my last year in the [Milan] youth teams, but tomorrow all that counts is getting a result.”

D’Aversa is targeting a result, but he admits he’ll have to make changes.

“It’s always best to have continuity, but when you have three games in a week you have to think about making changes.

“We’ll have to consider the physical condition, avoiding injuries, and the fact we’re at home to Empoli in the next game.

“But my only thought is putting out the best possible XI against Napoli.”
