Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret is expected to have a medical check-up tomorrow, as he aims to return to training after breaking a bone in his arm.

The goalkeeper joined the Partenopei from Udinese this summer, but sustained a fracture to the middle third of his left ulna in his very first training session.

His recovery has been progressing better than expected, but the club still moved to bring in David Ospina on transfer deadline day to provide an alternative to Orestis Karnezis.

According to today’s Corriere del Mezzogiorno, Meret will have a check-up tomorrow, and if he’s given the all-clear he could return to training almost immediately.

The Italian is not in contention to face Milan this weekend though, with Ospina and Karnezis competing for the starting spot between the posts.
