Genoa President Enrico Preziosi claims Aurelio De Laurentiis, not Maurizio Sarri, was to blame for Napoli missing out on Mattia Perin.

Genoa sporting director Giorgio Perinetti claimed over the weekend that Sarri wanted a goalkeeper with ‘better feet’ than Perin, who has since joined Juventus, but Preziosi made it clear who the buck lay with.

“Sarri didn’t want Perin? No, it wasn’t like that,” he told 7 Gold.

“The problem is that with it’s very difficult to deal with Aurelio De Laurentiis and the Azzurri board. For this reason, we struggled to close a deal.

“Juventus, on the other hand, showed a strong desire for the player, so the goalkeeper went to Turin.

“Mandragora? We like him and he interests us. We’ll talk to Juventus. Stuaro? It’s a bit more complicated with him.”
