Roma striker Diego Perotti is determined not to miss his chance of going to the World Cup with Argentina. “We can win the trophy.”

The 29-year-old had an unusual career path, making his senior Albiceleste debut in November 2009, playing 69 minutes in 2011 and not returning until becoming a regular member of the squad in November 2017.

It’s increasingly likely he will be one of the 23 players going to Russia with the Seleccion.

“I can’t let any chance go by. I have to take advantage of every opportunity and every minute I am given on the pitch to win my place,” he told TyC Sports.

“I can promise you that I will not be lacking in determination or desire. We have a team capable of winning the World Cup and I’d love to be there.”

Perotti also took viewers on a tour of the tattoos down his right arm, representing the cities where he was happiest.

“I have the Colosseum for Rome, the Lanterna for Genoa, the Giralda in Seville and the Obelisk in Buenos Aires.”
