The Giallorossi are out of the Coppa Italia and are 15 points off the top of Serie A as they face the Ukrainian side in the Champions League Last 16, looking to overturn a 2-1 deficit.

“It will be a very difficult game, because we have to get through to the next round,” the Brazilian defender told AS Roma Match Programme.

“We’re playing for our season and we have the chance to enter history because Roma haven’t been in the Quarter-Finals for some time.

“We’ll be ready to do everything possible to get through.

“The first leg was a bit strange, in the first half we learned that we can cause them problems, we played very well and we scored.

“In the second half we dropped off a bit. In Rome it will definitely be different, we’ll all do our best to go through.

“The away goal will be decisive, we have a result behind us where we lost 2-1 in Ukraine.

“If we go 1-0 up we’ll have to be smart and understand when to push and when to keep the ball for a bit. Then we’ll have to look for the second goal to close the game as soon as possible.

“For ourselves and the fans it would be very important to reach the Quarter-Finals. It would give us so much confidence and satisfaction to achieve other objectives.

“I hope we can go through because it would be a fantastic evening.”
