A lawyer who worked on Amin Younes’ move to Napoli insists the Ajax winger hasn’t changed his mind – “I’ve read so many falsehoods”.

The German international has already signed for the Partenopei, with his contract expiring at the end of the season.

The Serie A leaders wanted to do the deal early, and Younes arrived for a medical.

However, the deal never went through, and the 24-year-old has returned to Ajax for family reasons, with some even suggesting he’ll renew with the Dutch club.

“In negotiations there are variables which are beyond our control,” lawyer Mario De Rossi said on Radio Crc.

“That was the case with Younes, and these variables prevented him from arriving at Napoli in January.

“The lad has family problems and the clubs involved agreed to postpone the transfer until June, but I don’t think [sporting director Cristiano] Giuntoli bears any responsibility.

“I don’t know about the other talks, but Giuntoli did everything in his power and I think if [Simone] Verdi, [Matteo] Positano or Younes didn’t arrive there’s nothing to blame Napoli for.

“I don’t know the background of the Verdi or Politano affairs, and I’m not going to offer an opinion because it would be disrespectful to those who carried out the negotiations.

“Whoever says that Younes was unimpressed by Naples though is talking rubbish. It’s completely unfounded, because Younes got chills at the San Paolo and whoever says these things just wants to throw mud on Naples.

“As far as I know Younes never spoke to [Emanuele] Giaccherini, who among other things wasn’t involved with the group.

“I want to make it absolutely clear that Younes was treated brilliantly in Naples, and he wasn’t traumatised by the city, by Castelvolturno or by the San Paolo – quite the contrary.

“I’d invite people who operate on the market who don’t know the facts not to issue certain statements which, aside from anything else, are disrespectful to the city and club.

“Younes is in Amsterdam to stay close to his grandfather, but I think tomorrow he’ll rejoin the Ajax squad. The lad has signed with Napoli, and from July 1 he’ll be a Napoli player.

“Signing a renewal with Ajax would be completely null and void from a legal point of view.

“I’ve read so many falsehoods: that Younes was to be sent to Sassuolo, an attempt by Swansea – none of it’s true.”
