This morning’s Gazzetta dello Sport warns Gianluigi Donnarumma could leave Milan as soon as January, but a summer sale is more likely.

Reports emerged yesterday that the 18-year-old and his agent were no longer happy with the contract signed last summer, and were looking to annul is based on the idea the goalkeeper had been psychologically pressured into signing it.

While Gazzetta notes that it’s almost completely implausible that will actually happen, it shows that Donnarumma’s long-term future does not lie with the Rossoneri.

The newspaper believes that Raiola and CEO Marco Fassone have been privately meeting in recent weeks to come up with a solution which will benefit both parties.

The pair are considering a summer exit, which would bring in at least €40m with no release clause in the Italian international’s contract.

Gazzetta believes that Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain would be the most likely destination, and if there’s a total breakdown in relations a deal could even be found in January.

However, the situation with Financial Fair Play means a sale in the summer is more likely.

It’s expected UEFA will reject Milan’s voluntary agreement, with the restrictions for a settlement agreement to be made clear in the spring.

Milan’s accounts will be filed at the end of June, not in January, so selling Donnarumma would give a boost to their balance sheet.
