Stefano Pioli is convinced his Fiorentina side are improving as they prepare to face Atalanta.

Under the guidance of the former Inter Coach, the Viola lost their first two matches of the Serie A season before winning their next two.

And in their last encounter, they ran champions Juventus close before ultimately losing by a single goal to nil.

“Everyone has recovered,” Pioli said of his team’s exertions. “If there are no problems, I will change as few as possible.

“Everyone has recovered,” Pioli said of his team’s exertions. “If there are no problems, I will change as few as possible.

“We put in a good performance [against Juventus] but, due to some errors, we weren’t dangerous.

“We are growing and we have come back with conviction and confidence. Every game is important for our future.

“We have a lot of quality and we can definitely improve from this point of view. Our circulation of the ball needs to be better.

“We have had three days to prepare for the game and that isn’t a problem. We are insisting on our way of playing.”

Pioli also discussed the roles of Giovanni Simeone and Riccardo Saponara in his team.

“Simeone is doing well. It isn’t true that he is always isolated, although we do need to improve.

“We always play with a trequartista and we will continue doing so. But I think he [Saponara] can play in any position.”

The Fiorentina boss paid tribute to the job done by his opposite number today, Atalanta Coach Gian Piero Gasperini.

“Gasperini has given a very precise identity to them and his team are compact and solid.

“He should be pleased with what he is doing and he is very capable. I congratulate him.

“They’re doing well this year too. I think we will have to move very well because if we don’t, we won’t find any space.”
