Antonio Cassano announced his retirement this week, but he has a new offer to become captain of the Italy Singer’s National team.
The forward had signed for Hellas Verona, but found being away from his family too much to bear after a year off the field and quit within two weeks of pre-season training.

“Your enormous talent has never been in doubt, there are even those who in Italy say nobody has ever equalled your quality on the field.
“You announced your retirement, it’s a shame… but I just had an idea. I know you love music, so why don’t we record a song together, that way you can become captain of our team, the Nazionale Italiana Cantanti?
“Then you can play football until you’re 70 years old!”
The national team of singers play several games every year to raise funds for charity.
