Roma outcast Seydou Doumbia is reportedly set to join Sporting CP on a season-long loan with the view to a €6m permanent transfer.

According to O Jogo, Doumbia chose Sporting over Turkish side Fenerbahce and will travel to Lisbon this week to complete his move.

The striker joined Roma for €14.4m in January 2015 but scored just twice in 13 appearances and has spent the last two seasons on loan at CSKA Moscow, Newcastle United and Basel.

Despite regaining his scoring form with the latter, they opted against taking up their purchase option for the Ivorian.
