Geoffrey Kondogbia is “optimistic” about his Inter future, but will evaluate things “if the situation doesn’t change”.

The midfielder has made just four starts under Frank de Boer this season, and was even substituted after less than half an hour against Bologna.

The 23-year-old is currently out with an injury, but has warned that he could leave the Nerazzurri if he isn’t given more space.

“I remain optimistic, I have to be,” Kondogbia told Chaine Équipe.

“I remain optimistic, I have to be,” Kondogbia told Chaine Équipe.

“The situation is what it is, I have to try and reverse the trend. As a player who wants to play though, it’s clear if the situation doesn’t change we’ll have to evaluate what to do.

“At the moment though, a departure is unthinkable. It’s a shame, because I felt good at the start of the season.”

The situation may resolve itself for Kondogbia, however, as De Boer is expected to be sacked today.
