It appears the patron wants to consortium to act quickly, as he warns the Sicilian club may not be able to complete the season.

“I’ve put more than €100m into Palermo,” Zamparini said on Tg Med Sport XL.

“Now I don’t have any more because of the crisis which hit all entrepreneurs, if I don’t make this profitable sale the club can’t go on.

“Do you know that if I hadn’t sold [Paulo] Dybala and [Andrea] Belotti [to Juventus and Torino respectively] last year, we’d have had €40-50m of losses this year?

“Or that if I don’t find someone to put in €15m we won’t have enough money to finish the season? I’m going crazy to find them, but I will.

“I have to find someone worthy to replace me, to avoid Palermo ending up like Venezia when I left.

“Could some players be sold? Without this takeover, Palermo won’t remain in Serie A. But if the Chinese arrive we wouldn’t need anything.”
