The Rossoneri have won their last two Serie A games, and though it’s still early in the season they currently sit in sixth position.

“Are we happy with a Europa League place?” Paletta considered in an interview with Corriere dello Sport.

“It’s too early to talk about anything else, but if after half a season we were to continue with the attitude and spirit of the last few games, then that could give us some satisfaction.

“Then maybe we could give a little thought to the Champions League…”

Paletta then discussed some of his teammates, most notably his partnership with youngster Alessio Romagnoli.

“It’s not true that I’m in charge, we both are. And above all we talk a lot, both on and off the pitch, that’s the way you build understanding and improve together.

“Even the older ones can always improve, even if it’s true that there aren’t many of us at Milan. I think it’s the right mix.

“Our advice can be helpful, but first and foremost we have to be careful not to make mistakes, to set the right example.

“Look at [Gigi] Donnarumma: he’s serious, determined but above all he knows how to listen. As for the rest of it, just look at his performances.

“Carlos Bacca? He’s deadly. We’re lucky to have him playing with us, but our wingers are good too, they go one-on-one and swing the ball into the middle.

“Without them, it’d be harder for Bacca. In fact I’d say he finishes off the work of the whole team.”
