Verona released a statement urging Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini to “deal with the internal issues at his club”.

The Rosanero patron accused the Butei of allowing Frosinone to score in yesterday’s 2-1 win at the Bentegodi, which saw the Canarini leapfrog the Sicilian side.

Frosinone released a statement calling the allegations "offensive to football", and the Gialloblu have also responded with a Press release.

“The President of Hellas Verona, Maurizio Setti, in light of the statements made by President Zamparini to Gr Parlamento, vehemently denies the allegations made by the Palermo patron,” reads an official statement on the club’s website.

“He invites him to deal with the internal issues at his club and not to divert attention from them by spending his energy on sterile polemic as an end in itself.”
