Italy’s team doctor confirms Andrea Barzagli will return to Juventus, while Gianluigi Buffon has a fever.
It was reported this afternoon that Barzagli had picked up a muscular injury, while the goalkeeper confirmed yesterday he had been struggling ahead of the Derby della Mole.
“Gigi Buffon didn’t train on the pitch because he has a problem with a fever,” Enrico Castellacci confirmed, as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio’s website.

“Gigi Buffon didn’t train on the pitch because he has a problem with a fever,” Enrico Castellacci confirmed, as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio’s website.
“We preferred to have him rest today, and tomorrow we hope to have him back and available to train.
“The other problem concerns Barzagli, who has a muscular strain in his left leg so we decided along with the CT [Antonio Conte] to send him back to Turin for treatment.
“[Marco] Verratti came here to Coverciano, he was called by the CT to be tested again and of course we’re in very close contact with our colleagues at Paris Saint-Germain regarding the rest and rehabilitation of the lad.
“He has a form of groin pain with inflammation of the pubic bone and that has undermined his efforts a bit recently.”
