The 1-1 at the Ferraris saw Coach Walter Zenga claiming after the game that his team should have won it, and President Massimo Ferrero echoing the sentiment.

But star midfielder Soriano took a more sober view of the game.

“Regardless of my personal performance, I'm pleased by how the team did,” he told Samp TV after the game.

“It's never easy to face strong teams like inter and keep control of the game for long spells.

“We'd prepared it just like that: defend ourselves, then start again on the counter.

“We could have won it, but the performance was there.”

Soriano has been able to cover a variety of positions on the pitch in this start of the season.

“It's one of my characteristics. The Coach decides my role, then I try doing the best I can.

“In the second half we defended a little too far back behind the line, but that's because we spent a lot of energy in the first half.

“In any case, we've always done well against the great teams when playing at home. We need to work on doing equally well when playing away.”
