Filippo Inzaghi’s side are 10th in Serie A following the weekend defeat to Udinese, and the skipper insists the time for talking is over ahead of the Genoa match.

“Too many words have been said, there’s nothing to talk about,” Montolivo told Milan Channel.

“You have to show things on the pitch. The only answer we can give is to play with great responsibility and dignity for the shirt, and also for the fans who support us.

“None of us is happy, the performance on Saturday was not up to scratch. The main fault lies with the players, so we know we have to give more.

“We understand the problems, so I think it’s fair that we’re in ritiro since Sunday, so try and understand the problems and solve them.

“I was saddened to read in the newspapers that the team was against it. It was a decision we took together with the Coach.

“I’m sad to see people trying to invent trouble between the team and the Coach. We’re here to fute this, we hold the Coach in high esteem.”
