Fiorentina winger Joaquin says he’d like to return to play in Spain, and previews tonight’s Europa League clash with Roma.

The 33-year-old has become an integral part of Vincenzo Montella’s side in recent months, despite being a fringe player at the start of the season due to the Coach’s 3-5-2 system.

“A week before the season Montella said I wouldn’t have many opportunities because of the formation,” Joaquin told Cadena Ser.

“A week before the season Montella said I wouldn’t have many opportunities because of the formation,” Joaquin told Cadena Ser.

“I just carried on calmly, thinking only about working to change the situation, and I succeeded.

“The future? I’m honest, and I wouldn’t mind returning to play in Spain. Valencia, Sevilla and Malaga are three clubs where I was very happy.”

The Viola are in Europa League action tonight, looking to beat Roma and advance to the Quarters Finals.

“We have a very difficult game tonight. We’re going through a very good period, but taking on Roma in their own stadium is difficult.”
