The World Cup winner has joined the Nerazzurri on a six-month loan deal from Arsenal, and admits that the club’s Coach was a major factor in his decision.

“I had three or four options,” Podolski revealed as he was officially presented to fans and media.

“The relationship with Mancini played its part. The talks with Mancini were a driving factor behind my decision, they were amusing and entertaining negotiations and I’m happy to be here.

“We have three important months in front of us, we have to aim to finish as high as possible, and to get to the latter stages of the other competitions.

“I thank Mancini and [director Piero] Ausilio for bringing me here.”

The former Bayern Munich forward has made no secret of his admiration for Brazilian legend Ronaldo, who also played for Inter, and reveals he might play in Brazil one day.

“Everyone knows about Ronaldo. I spoke to him, and he spoke very highly of Inter.

“He was unlucky here because he had so many injuries. Could I play in Brazil? I don’t know, we’ll see what the future holds.”
