Sinisa Mihajlovic admits “the draw is the right result” after Sampdoria were held by Sassuolo and addressed his attacker.

“The draw is the right result,” shrugged the Blucerchiati boss in his Press conference following a 0-0 scoreline.

“We knew this was going to be a complicated game. Sassuolo didn’t allow us anything, while we weren’t good enough to find the spaces.

“We could’ve broken the deadlock with set plays, but those didn’t go well either. In the second half there were a few more chances, but I think overall a point each is fair.

“It was extremely hot in the second half and I think both teams struggled with the conditions, dropping the tempo.

“We did alright, but we know that we can do a lot more. We tried to win today and changed the system too, but it wasn’t enough.”

Mihajlovic was punched by a passer-by yesterday as he walked towards the Sampdoria team bus, but reacted and had the aggressor on the run.

“It is not nice to be insulted and attacked, but fortunately I know how to defend myself. I think he made a bad decision…”
